I’ve had absolutely no mojo lately with regard crafting so I thought I would take time doing other things, but nothing in particular. I do want to share a few items that I purchased lately, and hopefully get to use them soon. First up is my new Sizzix Big Shot, LOVE it: Next up is my new Cricut Explore Air: I love that it has an app for both the iPad & iPhone that I can use when I not sitting in my craft room. I’m looking forward to using both of them with Christmas right around the corner, so I hope to be back soon. Thanks for stopping by. Linda D Posted by Linda Duke on July 26, 2015 in Misc. It sounds odd saying that because I’ve been with them for the last 8 years, I can’t thank them enough for allowing me to be part of something wonderful, but I’m excited for what lays ahead whatever that might be. I know it’s a little early to start making Christmas items, but I’m always last minute so I thought I should try and sneak some in LOL! I started this snowman the same way I did with this project. Here is the supply list provided in the above link. Started with a round paper Mache ornament. Drilled a hole in it large enough to glue a wooden dowel in. Cover with paperclay (not to thick), let dry completely, I let mine sit overnight. When dry sand rough areas if needed. Paint entire piece with acrylic paint including the wooden dowel (I used a cream color). When paint dries, add a thin color wash over the entire piece, and let dry. Cut felt using Standard Circles die templates, the circle size you use will depend on the size of the ornament after it’s covered with paper clay. I also die cut cardstock for the hat brim, and hat top so I could glue the felt to I Die cut cardstock using the Poinsettia die template, and shade with Distress Ink. Paint the eyes, nose, and cheeks, and then add lace/ribbon. That’s it. That’s it for now, thanks for visiting. Felt, Bead for flower center, Fabric Lace, Silver Wire, Cream, Black, Orange, Pink acrylic paint. I also used light brown acrylic paint diluted with water to make a color wash. Paperclay , Martha Stewart Corse Glitter. I purchased most of the misc. items from Hobby Lobby. I’m getting ready for a pizza party we are having tomorrow for Father’s Day because it’s to hot to be outside for a BBQ. So we are ordering everything, and staying inside. Our youngest daughter will be another year older next week (sigh), so I thought I would create a card I can put in the mail. I love this card… it’s so pretty in real life, and the colors are nice together. I started by cutting/embossing all the white cardstock pieces. Randomly stamp the large flower as shown. Next, stamp the large flower on a post-it-note to create a mask, and cut out with scissors. Working with one flower at a time, place the mask over a flower on the card front to protect it. With the mask in place stamp the leaves, and smaller flowers. Remove the mask, and place on the next flower and continue as before until all flowers are complete. Go around each flower with a Copic Marker. Stamp sentiment; add ribbon/bow, and your done. That’s it for now, have a wonderful rest of your weekend. Today I want to share a card with you that’s not my norm. As much as I love making flowers, pretty bows, and lots of layering this card has none of that LOL. This was a step outside my comfort zone, because I think more is better, less is much harder, and I admire the creators that do it so beautifully. All and all I’m pretty happy with this card, and think my DH will enjoy receiving it. Making the balloon: One: Cut/embossed the hot air balloon die template four times with four different pieces of designer paper, I used Prima Nature Garden (one of my favorites). The first layer is the entire die. Two: To make each layer of the balloon (top), I used my scissors’ and cut along the embossed lines of each piece making each layer smaller than the one before. Three: Add foam tape between each layer. NOTE: I added an extra step to give the ballon dimension. After step one and two I used my stylist to create a little bit of a curve by pressing down on the paper while on the foam pad, then added my foam pieces, distressed the edges, and assembled as shown. Four: I cut the red hearts by hand, tied silver bows, and added some black self-adhesive rhinestones, then finishing with a touch of Wink of Stella. That’s it for today, I’ll be back soon.
